Father God Lord Jesus Holy Spirit We present ourselves before You again this Sunday. You have given us the gift of life And we give ourselves back to You. Because You made us for Yourself. We are not made for our own selves. That’s a hard concept Because it seems like we belong to ourselves In this body that is so familiar. We see through our own eyes. We hear through our own ears and Speak through our own mouths. And yet, You tell us that our bodies Are not our own. That we have been bought with a price. And we are commanded to honor You With our bodies. Lord, we cannot fulfill this command. You must give us the desire and the ability. We often feel like we live at the whims of Our appetites. And we live in a time of much temptation To use our bodies in ways that dishonor You. Draw us close, Lord. Convict us and give us Power to obey. We will never give up relying on You. There’s always more grace to honor You. We long for the best still to come In eternal bodies, fully at home. Amen.
