Father God Lord Jesus Holy Spirit We present ourselves before you again this Sunday. In this season of remembrance, We gather in the night to await your dawn. We come in out of the cold To embrace your warmth. We consider again a baby’s cry That split human history into before and after. One unique infant squalling in his humanity, Like any of the babies we’ve held. Would the shepherds have recognized Him Without the angels’ herald? The Gentile kings knew him because of The star. Was that your shekinah glory? So many debatable questions. We who walk around in our ordinary lives Are left to wonder about Logistics and feelings and exactly how Did these events unfold? In our connected age we’re forever Squabbling about a million questions. But we lay aside our disputes and debates now To rest in your provision of a king Ushering in an unending kingdom. Some of us have witnessed sudden deaths In this season and we are especially grateful To be reminded of a life without end, A never-ending dawn. We will never give up waiting for your light. There’s always more brightness to your dawning. And the best is yet to be, when the light Of life returns to drive out our darkness, forever. Amen.
