This reality ("You have made us for Yourself") may be the most profound spiritual truth we will ever realize. (Thank you Karen for sharing!)
We all want a purpose, don't we? Not to be a random collocation of atoms temporarily connected. But a substantive, forceful, being of intent, value, and significance.
And what could be more substantive and significant than for the Creator of the Cosmos to delight in us so much that our purpose isn't mere "usefulness" (like a kitchen spatula or a monkey-wrench) but for love, to be His child and (most breathtakingly) to be His spouse.

Lord, You made us for Yourself!
Yes, to be one...
One with ourselves (whole),
One with Jesus, our Savior, spouse, friend,
One with His body, the Church,
As He and the Father are one...
Almost unbelievable except He promised us so and He cannot lie!
Oh, Sam, what wonderful truths you’ve spelled out!
It is all too good to be true, isn’t it? And yet, we who believe are fully known by him and will know Him like the most intimate human relationship.
Yes, Lord, increase our faith that we are truly made to be your spouse!
I do think our common idiom of talking about “God using” us is unfortunate, don’t you? Not the right connotation.
Thanks, Sam.
