Mary and Elizabeth Joyfully Respond to God’s Kindness

Father God
Lord Jesus
Holy Spirit

We present ourselves before You again this Sunday.
You are so kind to give these
Two miraculous babies to women
Who are relatives.

Women who already have relationship
Enough to support each other
Through these joyful, but
Nearly unbelievable, circumstances. 

Elizabeth, childless, not by choice,
Into her old age, beyond possibility.
Mary, childless by life station,
Unprepared to convey any life
Into the world, much less
The One who is life itself.

We worship You this morning
Not just because You are the center
Of all that is and all that will ever be,
But because of your kindness.

We want to be among those who 
Fully, joyfully, embrace You.
We want to rejoice and believe,
As Mary and Elizabeth believed,
That your word will be accomplished.

In joyful anticipation, we worship
The newborn King and await his return.

We will never give up trusting your kindness.
You are always worth our joyful abandonment.
And the best is yet to be, when joy will
Be our daily bread.
Amen.
