A great reminder that God is at work in me and can use me for His purposes (which of course are the best purposes), even if/when I am not my best self.

I love the irony of your last paragraph, especially this sentence: "Lord, we need your help to grasp our dependence on You."

Not only do we continually run to independence from God, even in our attempts to return to the Lord, we do so in our own power. So, your prayer unmasks our addiction to independence, "We need His help not only to see our independence but also to become dependent once more."

And your next sentence: "Thank You that You are utterly dependable."
