Loss not liss

Thanks Karen. I'm wondering what led you to write about liss.

Welcome, Nancy. Why write about loss? I don’t recall a specific trigger, other than conversations through the week.

And, of course, I’m thinking of all the kinds of loss, not just death. Loss of dreams, loss of nurture, loss of hope, loss of housing, all the everyday losses/disappointments.

When I did therapy, that’s mostly what therapy is about. How to grieve losses and forgive the sin that created the losses, as well as making peace with God about the conditions of life in a fallen world.

Blessings on your day.

Hi Karen,

So few people talk about the blessings of going to church, and yet here you did so beautifully. A time to gather, declare, refresh, and practice.

I find church a time of spiritual, divine grace imparted. It is encouragement, remembering, hope, faith-building, and comfort.

And, yes, sometimes the person next to us sings off key! But am I really any better? I have my own warts.

And isn't that part of the beauty? Broken and sinful creatures worshipping their creator. Together.

Thanks

Hi Karen, sorry for the delay. There was some audio issues with the sermon. They just cleaned it up (although only a little). Here is a link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qk_GO2ViGSI

Sure thing. I will. I'm speaking on the most difficult Psalm in Scripture, Ps. 137. Yet I think there is hope and beauty in the midst of a seemingly bloody, shocking psalm.

Oh, yes, I refreshed my memory of Psalm 137.

I’ll be interested in your thoughts.

Oh, wonderful! Lord, use every bit of Sam’s self to minister your word and to lead his people into your Spirit’s presence. Come Holy Spirit, fill Sam especially, right now, for this task. Bless his heart and the hearts of the hearers. For your glory, Amen.
