What a healing balm, especially for those of us who experienced the opposite of a "loving father". I need to be reminded daily that my earthly conception of "father" is tainted, corrupted, slandered. The name, the position, the relationship of father need to be transformed daily by the "renewing of [my] mind...by the word of God". Your letter is another helpful tool in my arsenal of spiritual weapons! Thank you.
Wonderful, Carol. Welcome. Yes, renewing our minds is a daily process when we’re in the thick of it. Bless you as you imbibe the truth of the Father’s absolute goodness.
Really beautiful. A great idea for all of us, to write a letter from our Lord to us.
Great description of the Father's love and LOVING authority. (Joni Erickson Tada once said, "God allows what He hates to accomplish what He loves." And God is lovingly making us all into the beautiful children He designed us to be.
Welcome, Sam. Yes, wonderful Joni quote. Isn’t it great to be children of an authoritative (not authoritarian) Father? I didn’t have a good childhood but I imagine a good one is delightful. Is it, in fact, the best this fallen life has to offer? Which then provokes a musing about how God parents us. Like we’re babies or young adults? Or, both. Okay, I’ll stop…😂
