Father God Lord Jesus Holy Spirit We present ourselves before You again this Sunday. To get here this morning, We have exercised the agency You’ve given us. We’ve chosen to be here for the first time Or because we’ve chosen a habit of attending. You give us choice. How that works with your sovereignty, We will debate until your second coming. You are too mysterious for us To grasp how You work out Both our free will and your supremacy. You are majestic, mysterious, and good. And we choose today to worship; To declare your worth; To ascribe to You glory, honor, and power. You are the One to whom we will Give an account. You are the One who accepts Us in the beloved. You are the One who justifies the Ungodly when we turn over our lives. We bow our hearts before You. We surrender ourselves to You. We will never give up choosing You. There’s always more to proclaim of who You are and More to discern of who we are. And the best will eventually arrive, when You return on the clouds, just as You left More than two thousand years ago. Amen.
Amen and Amen!
Hi Karen,
I love the depth of worship in today's prayer and meditation. Yes! We will debate how the Lord's sovereignty and our choice intermingle (and debate till He returns), but even in your reference to that debate, you bow before the One who is "majestic, mysterious, and good."
I'm a Presbyterian, so I have a background in the "sovereignty" camp; and yet I know completely that God loves and delights in our "choice" to worship and adore Him. (He doesn't want empty minded robots.)
And so we "CHOOSE" to to worship, declare YOUR truth, and ascribe (and ascribe to You only) all glory, honor, and power.
Thank you Karen! And thank you Lord for inspiring Karen, while never pulling puppet strings; alluring us instead with your beauty and goodness.
Sam
