Father God Lord Jesus Holy Spirit We present ourselves before You again this Sunday. We gather today, at this time, in this place Because we believe You are God. We believe You are the source of our lives. We believe You call us to the Obedience of faith. On the basis of reliable testimony, We believe that we are made in your image. We have not made You in our image. We have not generated a god in our imagination That we can control and give allegiance to. No. We have accepted You as the Creator Who reveals himself. The Father-God who wants to be known and loved. The Authority to whom we are accountable. We ask for grace to be obedient to You. We recognize that obedience, As hard as that word is for some of us, Is the source of a true, good, and beautiful life. We don’t want to have a form of godliness That denies your power to heal and To empower obedience. We need You to expose and heal our wounds. We need You to give grace to love. We will never give up honoring You. There’s always more healing and grace. And the best is yet to be, when You will Show yourself again on the earth to take us To the home You are now preparing. Amen.

Hi Karen,
Maybe your most beautiful poem so far, and ever so true and moving.
I am (and we all are) SO very tempted to make God in our image, to judge Him when He "falls short" of what we KNOW is best, to try to control or tame Him with our prayers and good deeds.
Instead, you have called us to love Him as He is, creator, friend, and authority.
Father, we need You in every area of our lives.
