Father God Lord Jesus Holy Spirit We present ourselves before You again this Sunday. In this sin-cursed world, Your kindness has led us to repentance. We have turned from Our own way, to follow You. Like walking after a leader’s footsteps In eight inches of snow, We want to put our feet Where your feet have landed, Because You are marking the way forward. We have learned that your path Is the straightest path, The best path, The path home. We especially feel the need of your Leadership when we trudge through the snow. We wish our journeys were Snow free, in seventy degree weather, Though fields of flowers, under uncloudy skies. But, as the hymn says, we are “Fast bound in sin and nature’s night,” And blizzards disrupt many of our paths. We thank You that You plan the path; That You reach your hand back to Pull us through; that sometimes You even carry us. We will never give up following your footsteps. There’s always more to turn away from. And the best is yet to be, when we will skip With You through eternal fields of lilies. Amen.
Amen.Thank you Karen. Much needed. Blessings.
Great timing,
Just this week, I've been thinking about a line early in your poem: "Your kindness has led us to repentance."
Why do we always think of repentance coming after harsh lecture and fire-and-brimstone sermons. Sure, fear can lead to a kind of change. But for me, the deepest change has always come from His goodness and kindness.
And the more I LOOK at His goodness and kindness, the more I can walk in His ways.
Thanks
