Father God Lord Jesus Holy Spirit We present ourselves before You again this Sunday. May is a month of endings and beginnings. The end of a school year, The beginning of a summer. For some of us, the end of a student identity, As graduation arrives. Some endings we look forward to, like Calves let out of winter quarters, Frolicking in the green grass of spring. Other endings require deep deliberation To find grace to live with the losses. Jesus, You understand life transitions. You lived through the quiet years at home, Doing carpentry with Joseph, Doing family life with Mary and your siblings. When that season ended, You presented Yourself to Israel. Baptized by John, driven into the wilderness, You began your work by surmounting The temptations from the evil one, Where Satan tempted You to question Your identity as the Son of God. Transitions can disrupt identity. Who are we without the lost roles? We’re no longer a spouse, or a worker Or a craftsperson or the picture of health. But we will always be your dear children, Father. We will never transition away from that identity. And the best is yet to be, rejoicing together in your Family, perfected in worship and peace. Amen.

Hi Karen,
I was captured by your title, "Always the Father's Dear Children." It's just what I need today.
Right now, this past week (and this upcoming week), I'm frazzled with too much to do (WAY too much) and too little time (and energy) to do it.
I'm overwhelmed.
But your reminder, I'm His dear child, is the perfect balm for my soul. I can have "too much to do" and still be at peace in His arms. I need not do all things perfectly, or even do it well. That's putting pressure He hasn't asked of me. But I DO want to do "all things in Him."
Just do what I can, and leave the results up to Him.
As His child, I felt God say, "Give me your five loaves, and watch me multiply it."
It's not my job to feed His 5,000. It's my job to be the child who offers my two mites (switching stories here :-) ) and let's God do as He always does: which is to bring His love, goodness, and power.
Thanks!!! I am His belove child. That's all I need.
Sam
