Article voiceover
Father God Lord Jesus Holy Spirit We present ourselves before You again this Sunday. In a world that provides constant distraction, We want to steady ourselves in You. Enable us, please, to give our attention to You. Corporations know how to grab our eyes And your voice can be hard to hear. Thank You for your Word That guides and convicts and brings joy. From poetry to apocalypse, You speak. And as we search your scriptures, we Encounter You, Jesus, the God-man, the One whose sacrifice ransoms your people And is redeeming all of creation. Whether we are suffering or rejoicing today, We need You. We need your rescue from our years of addiction. We need your encouragement in our old age. We need your guidance as we ponder new directions. You have made us to need You. There’s no shame in that dependence. Just like there’s no shame in a child’s dependence. We are contingent beings, Dependent on your presence in us to live The life You’ve called us to. Open our eyes to see and Our ears to hear, Lord. We will never give up searching for You. There’s always more encounter. And when the best comes, You will have all our attention. Amen.
Hi Karen,
So good to read your words. All we need ... is need. I think I "need" health, or answers, or solutions, or money. But I think God is saying (through your words) that my single greatest need is need.
Need of Him.
Thanks
