Father God Lord Jesus Holy Spirit We present ourselves before You again this Sunday. We want to behold You. We want to pursue You. We want to sense your presence. We need to know who You are And who we are. We need to encounter your truth. We need a refreshing of our spirits. We gather to remember together. We gather to gain faith from others’ faith. We gather to observe and to hear. You are the eternal God, one being In three persons, living forever In love and joy with each other. You didn’t need to make us, You wanted to make us. Each one of us, individually, You wanted. Whether we were wanted by our parents Or not, You wanted us— Our uniqueness, our particular set of Genetics and circumstance. You weave your story with our stories, Using our particularity to display Your glory. We will never give up wanting You who wants us. There’s always more to encounter. And the best is yet to be, when faith and trust And love and joy will be constantly refreshed. Amen.
Hi Karen,
Honestly, the key point of your poem was perfectly summed up with your title. I keep thinking about how God WANTED to make us, to have us, to be in a relationship with us.
God was perfect, in need of nothing. But His love is so overwhelming, He wanted us.
That idea (that BIBLICAL idea) is overwhelmingly comforting and hope-giving.
Thanks
