Which Comes First, Easy or Hard?

Tuesday Thought 3.18.25

There are often two ways set before us. 

One looks easy and fun and light filled. 
The other looks dark and lowly.

We can eat the fifth cookie now and repent of it on the scales in the morning.
We can give in to our illicit sexual desires now and regret the wreckage we leave.
We can repeat the nasty thing we heard now and feel ashamed of ourselves later.

Remember, we do the hard thing first to have an easy time later.
Or we do the easy thing first and have a hard time later. 

Lord, you know our deep tendency to do what feels easiest now without regard for the consequences. Save us, Lord, from ourselves.
