I love your Sunday meditations on a Psalm. Today I'm struck by three things.
First, I love your reminder to see God "drawing" and "inviting" me (maybe from today and maybe from decades ago). It is SO wonderfully encouraging to remember that He loves us so much and that He constantly woos us to His presence. (I tend to remember that I want Him; but knowing He wants me is breathtakingly beautiful ... and just what my soul mostly deeply needs!)
Second, I love the reminder that we all long for more "encounters" with the Father. And I love your reminder that these beautiful encounters can be both CONVICTION of sin and FORGIVENESS of sin. Too many of us are afraid of the conviction, but without it, we are left with the hidden shames that are left unaddressed. Only the good, good Father knows how to lovingly convict, like the surgeon who removes the cancer to bring full healing.
And lastly, thanks for reminding me of my One and Only True Rest. I'm looking too many other places (YouTube and naps!) when the only rest for my soul is in Him.
Thanks, Sam. You always draw out more implications from what I write. You see what’s embedded in the words. That’s so lovely. I just write what comes to mind, fruit of years of walking the road with Him.
Yes, it’s awesome (in the true use of that word) that He wants you and me. Too good to be true, but true indeed.
And yes, we so need the deep work! And to find the rest of soul that comes only from Him.
Thank you. Blessings on your worship today. May you encounter Him!
