Father God Lord Jesus Holy Spirit We present ourselves before You again this Sunday. The weather has turned this week. We can enjoy biking or walking or gardening In the warming temperatures. Indeed, some of us find it easier To believe in your love When the weather is pleasant. We can tell ourselves a story that What we feel is what’s true. It’s a common error because Our emotions are important information. And yet, how we feel Does not reflect the quality Of your compassion and concern for us. It’s your sacrifice on our behalf, Jesus, That demonstrates the depth of your love. Nothing else. When the weather is good, our hearts rejoice. Lord, let us also rejoice in the depth of winter Because the intensity of your goodness Does not change with the seasons. Help us experience the immensity of your love In the winter times of our lives. You willingly endured the wages of sin So we can receive the free gift of righteousness. Glory. We will never give up trusting that sacrifice. There’s always more to rejoice in. And the best is yet to be, the consummation Of all of history at the Wedding Feast of the Lamb. Amen.

How shocking (and seemingly "un" Christian) that the consummation of Scripture is (a) a party, and (b) the wedding between God and man.
We are Hosea's wife who keeps running away. But God is the God who pursues us, loves us, dresses us, and (most intimate and shocking of all things), He marries us.
At the Wedding Feast of the Lamb.
Thanks (ever so much) for this great reminder.
