Unpredictable. Predictable. God is.
Tuesday Thought 3.17.26
What God will do is unpredictable. We don’t like that. We want Him to do what we want. To always give us what we ask for, and more. Who He is, is predictable. We grasp who He is by what He’s said and what He’s done. He has spoken the whole universe into existence. By his own suffering, He has rescued us from our sin sickness and delivered us into his kingdom. He has promised us a forever life that will far exceed our suffering here. That will, He says, have no basis of comparison with our pain now. Many of us suffer loss upon loss, sickness upon sickness. We desperately want help and healing and will not get it in the way we ask. We can, in the worst times, remember Jesus in Gethsemane, where He, also, wrestled with God for a different outcome. And remember the actual outcome that redirected all of history. God’s plans are so much bigger and we will suffer for them, but we will never suffer as much as He, Himself, has. What’s coming is unimaginably good, because He is good. Genesis 1:3 Colossians 1:13 Romans 8:18 Matthew 26: 36-44 1 Corinthians 2:9
