Trust Jesus More Than Feelings

There is a way which seems right to a person,
But its end is the way of death.
Proverbs 14:12 NASB
It seems right to trust our gut, to make decisions based on how we feel, to let our desires determine our life trajectory.
But feelings cannot provide core strength. Trusting them as the source of decision making will lead to death.
Emotions give us information about our experiences. What we feel is shaped by how we’ve been treated.
Jesus offers Himself as the way, the truth, and the life.
Trusting Jesus in every area of our lives will lead to life.
Trusting that his commands are for our good, always.
Trusting that his plan for marriage, for holy living, for self control, is life-giving.
Trusting that He, Himself, will empower us to follow Him.
Trusting that, with our repentance, failures are not permanent.
Trusting that He has all eternity to compensate for our pain now.
Trusting that Jesus knows, and has suffered Himself, all our temptations.
Trusting that Jesus is, even now, preparing a place for us in his Father’s house.
