Father God Lord Jesus Holy Spirit We present ourselves before You again this Sunday. We want to lay up for ourselves Treasures in heaven. Indeed, we want You to be our treasure. We can proclaim our allegiance to You But we don’t really know what’s In our hearts until we’re tested. When we get a call that our spouse Is unconscious in the ER, Does anything override our fear? Can we proclaim then, That, no matter what, You are our treasure? Not our husband, not our wife, But You? Or on the day we lose our job, is it, “God, why?” or “Father, You give and You take away. Blessed be your name.” Only by your power can we cling to You In times of testing. The trials that lay bare our hearts Expose our treasure. Your ways are not our ways. Your thoughts are not our thoughts. Your way and your thoughts serve Purposes higher than we understand. We will never give up pursuing more understanding. There’s always more to discover and to trust. And the best is yet to be, when our treasure Will truly and fully be You, alone. Amen. Photos from Unsplash

Hi Karen,
This week's poem really touches my heart. I WANT the Lord to be my treasure, and yet (as you say), time and time again, He reveals my true treasures in all my times of difficulty. "The trials that bare our hearts ... expose our treasures."
Father, hasten the day that love for You consumes our hearts; hasten the day we see Your love for us and we are fully in love with You.
