Father God Lord Jesus Holy Spirit We present ourselves before You again this Sunday. We humans could never have conceived of A creator entering his creation. The truths we celebrate at this season Are beyond any imagination we possess. That the One who made the whole thing Would step into the thing made is More than we can imagine. And so, we celebrate again this inconceivable Event of your word becoming flesh And dwelling among us so we can Behold your glory, shining through your Earthly walking-around life. The affection and compassion and desire That provoked this incarnation is Beyond any love we know. Even those of us who were raised by Marvelous parents in delightful circumstances Can’t imagine the love that undergirds What You have done in Jesus. We bow in adoration. We kneel in submission. We want the love You bear To fill our hearts today with hope and joy. We will never give up marveling at your birth. There’s always more meaning to plumb. And the best is yet to be when we Will enter the existence that is truly life, Forever enjoying your attention and affection. Amen.
Hi Karen,
Again, I love your focus on worship and adoration of this God and Father who is beyond our imagination. He is loving and glorious beyond thinking. (Think how terrible this world would be if God really were how we want Him to be!)
A couple weeks ago, someone introduced me to a song called, "How Low Is Our Redeemer Brought." It's basically a medication on the humility of God in the Incarnation, maybe a medication on Phil. 2, "Though He was one with God, He did not count equality a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself ... and being found in human form, He humbled Himself."
I love the song like I love your poems: it makes me look at my Lord with love and humility. The song offers a series of contrasts between the Exalted One and His humility in coming to Earth. The second verse is:
How low was our Redeemer brought
The Lord the worlds obeyed
Would stumble as He learned to walk
Upon the ground He'd made
The One the angels bowed before
Would kneel to wash our feet
And be at home among the poor
Though He owned everything

Thank you once again for pointing us to Him.
