It’s a battle to believe we are who God says we are. We act out who we believe ourselves to be. Where did we get our sense of identity? What messages did we pick up from our families of origin? Do we feel worthless or special or some confused combination? We’re very attached to our self image, even if it’s negative.
To respond to God’s offer of growth into our true identity, we must ask for strength from Him to fight the battle. To detach from those parts of our sense of self that are deeply felt but untrue. And to begin to believe that who God says we are is truth to live from.
The Lord bless you and keep you all your days.
Great wisdom! People pay a ton of money to get this from psychotherapists, if one could be found who had walked through the gates of hell herself like Karen has!
Thank you Karen. Blessings.
