Still Learning
Sunday Psalm 5.3.26
Father God Lord Jesus Holy Spirit We present ourselves before You again this Sunday. As we have given ourselves to You, You have whole heartedly received us. Like the son returning from the pig yard, As we trudge up the lane to humble ourselves, You run to meet us. You know we carry many regrets But You do not condemn us. You do not shame us. You forgive us. When there was no way back from Eden’s fall, You made the way for us to join your family. You know we are still children, still learning. You know the lies and deceptions of This world’s ruler. The lie that You are not good. The lie that You are an abusive parent. The lie that You neglect and abandon us, Especially when pain provokes fear and unbelief. You accept us in the Beloved. You know we are still learning to Lean on a good Father’s shoulder, To relax into a Forever Father’s embrace. Refresh our imagination today. We want to think of You as You are. We will never give up learning to rest in You. There’s always a place of deeper peace. And we await the best greeting ever, When You run to meet us at heaven’s gate. Amen.

Hi Karen,
You always nail it. And once again today; it is in suffering that I doubt God most. Not "doubt" that He exists, but doubt that He is Good or that He Loves.
So you point us to the FATHER of the prodigal, RUNNING to meet us. Even though our natural inclination (or the tempter's lie) is to imagine Him off at a distance, tapping His foot, saying "This better be good." No! He RUNS to meet us.
Oh Father, plant this image of You in our hearts. If we know You are good and loving, we can handle the storms.
