Father God Lord Jesus Holy Spirit We present ourselves before You again this Sunday. We come to strengthen our orientation To You and to your kingdom. On a day when American culture Celebrates the current football kings, We remind ourselves of The eternal King we have committed to. We surrender to your rule and reign In your endless kingdom. You are in charge. We are your persons, Your community, Your family. Following You is playing a long game, Keeping our focus on the final victory You have won for us, While also executing the tasks You call us to, day by day. In your kingdom, we are ends in ourselves Not just means to win over an adversary. We are dear children, though we are Unworthy to untie your sandal. We kneel before You. To You belong glory, majesty, power, and authority. We will never give up honoring You Because You have so honored us. There’s always more to pursue. And the best is yet to be, your kingdom On earth, as it is now in heaven. Amen.

Karen,
Thank you.. for the Scripture and for your beautiful gift of words.
Blessings to you,
Lola
My favorite line is, "Following You is playing the long game." Which makes perfect sense in our lives.
Playing the "short" game is the immaturity of children, who want it "NOW!" But the long game has always been, studying today for a job tomorrow, exercising today for health tomorrow, and saving today for retirement tomorrow.
It's common sense.
So why do we forget that this entire life itself will be a blink of time compared to eternity with our Lord?
Thanks
