Only Joy Remains
Sunday Psalm 5.31.26
Father God Lord Jesus Holy Spirit We present ourselves before You again this Sunday. Lord, we want a word from You. We want to hear a word of strength, A word of courage, a word of comfort. We all carry burdens that are too much. Fears for our families, fears for the world, Concerns for our own future. Some of us face surgeries this month. Some of us anticipate a job loss, Some grieve the deaths of those Whose childhoods we shared. This life feels so real and so permanent, Although we know our feelings do not Always represent truth. We are here because we have been convinced That this is not the whole of life. And we are grateful, because this life Is too much for us. Too painful, too burdensome. And yet, You do give moments and even seasons Of happiness that remind us that the weight Of this world is not permanent. We long for your beautiful kingdom fully come. We will never give up awaiting your appearing. There’s always more to hope for. And, when You return to set it all right, Every burden will be lifted. Only joy will remain. Amen.
