Father God Lord Jesus Holy Spirit We present ourselves before You again this Sunday. We can only imagine what Mary felt when She went to attend to your body, Wondering who would roll away the stone But finding the stone moved And your tomb empty. We wonder what Peter and John were thinking When they ran to see what Mary saw. For most of us, today is one of Dozens of remembrances of that day. It can feel like old news. But your first witnesses had watched You take your last breath. They saw the blood streaming down Your naked body. They saw and despaired. They were not expecting resurrection. That would be as unbelievable to them As it is to us when we see a dead body. But the stone had been moved And You were walking in the garden. You spoke to your weeping disciple: “Mary.” The joy in her response, “Rabbi,” Yet fills our hearts today. We will never give up rejoicing. That old news is the only true good news. There’s always more hope to receive. And we await the best, the unfathomable experience Of our own joyful resurrection. Amen.

I have always loved the words of the angel - Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here. He has risen!
