Father God Lord Jesus Holy Spirit We present ourselves before You again this Sunday. We gather in your name, Jesus, And since You promised, we presume You are truly here, with us. You say your sheep know your voice and Maybe even better, that You know your sheep. You know us, You say, like your Father knows You And like You know the Father. You know what we’re imagining today. You know the scenarios that we play out In our minds, from the hopeful to the terrifying. You know your purposes for each of our lives, For our culture, for the human race, Indeed, for all of history. You are in charge. That doesn’t mean we won’t suffer. We will. However life unfolds, we can count on some Amount of loss, disappointment, and, sometimes, Life-altering catastrophe. We don’t know what’s ahead. But we trust that You know us. That You bear tenderness toward us. That You will give wisdom and strength To empower us to live and love day by day. We will never give up listening for your voice. There’s always more to hear. And the best will come, fear will end, hurt will be comforted, And we will behold You, present with us, forever. Amen.
