Father God Lord Jesus Holy Spirit We present ourselves before You again this Sunday. Honesty is one of the guardrails Along the beautiful path of following You. When You call us to Yourself, You are calling us to a depth Of transparency that we may Have never known. Many of us grew up in families Where it was not safe to be honest About hard things. To speak of our fear of our brother. To tell our mother about being bullied. To express anger at our father’s ridicule. We are so shaped by our earliest household That it’s a lifelong process to learn to trust Your gentle and humble heart. And it’s only as we trust that we can Bring our wounded, sinful selves to You. We can be honest about our sin and our shame Only to the extent that We trust You will forgive and heal. Help us today to see your kind smile That welcomes us to sit with You in peace. Thank You that You are a trustworthy Father. We will never stop learning to rest in You. There’s always more to open up to You. And the best will be when we dwell together In transparency and holiness in the beauty of Your kingdom fully arrived. Amen.

Hi Karen,
Another beautiful and meaningful poem. And (yet again), another message that harmonizes with exactly all God is saying to me. (Which should stop amazing me by its frequency but always amazes me for it confirmation.)
As I read your poem I realized:
--The more I know my Father's love, the easier it is to be honest with Him and vulnerable;
--And the more honest and vulnerable I am with Him, the easier it is to know His love.
They work hand in hand.
Which is exactly how our Father wants to work (and walk) with us.
Sam
