Hoping This is a New Jesus Movement

Many of us who committed our lives to Jesus more than fifty years ago in the Jesus Movement have prayed for decades that God would initiate a new student movement. What I am reading about the Unite US movement encourages me that God is responding. The Asbury Outpouring was 2 years ago, in February 2023. In September of 2023, Tonya Prewett, and her daughter, author and speaker Madison Prewett Troutt, convened a meeting at Auburn University where hundreds of baptisms took place and the Unite US movement began. In April 2024, at an event at the University of Georgia, the leaders said: "The goal for the Unite US movement, according to both Moran and Prewett, is salvation for the non-believer, freedom for the believer and connection in the community. “We want [our impact] to be a lifelong discipleship process for the students, not a one night event,” said Prewett. “Anyone can come and experience a one night event, leave and maybe change that night, but it’s hard to walk out those changes unless you’re part of a community.” " And the meetings, salvations, and baptisms continue. There was one last week at Kentucky There’s one today at Ohio State. Also, one of the speakers at the Unite Us events, Jennie Allen, is spearheading a global online event February 28-March 1. "Gather25 is a 25-hour gathering of the global Church where we will pray, worship, repent, and be commissioned back out into our communities to share Jesus everywhere.” More, Lord. We need You, our children need You, our grandchildren need You. Reveal Yourself. Give us hearts to know You. Send out your workers. Bring in the harvest. For our good and your glory. So be it.
