I’d have had a lukewarm shower except someone who went before had told me the water got hot quickly. We were camping for a night after taking Jerry’s new dune buggy out.
He took a shower last night, returning with a good report. When I went in this morning and tried the water, even after several minutes it was only lukewarm.
If someone had not gone before me to report on the conditions, I’d have assumed lukewarm was the best I was going to get. But with that hope, I tried the adjacent shower stall and found wonderfully warm water.
God can speak to us in any detail. This simple experience of hope brought to mind what Jesus was demonstrating when he showed himself after his resurrection: “I’ve gone ahead of you and I’ve returned with a report.
Here I am in a body, different, but recognizable.
And this is what you, also, can hope for.
An eternal body.”
Glory!
“Our dead and decaying bodies will be changed into bodies that won't die or decay. The bodies we now have are weak and can die. But they will be changed into bodies that are eternal. Then the Scriptures will come true,
“Death has lost the battle!
Where is its victory?
Where is its sting?”
