Father God Lord Jesus Holy Spirit We present ourselves before You again this Sunday. Because You are forever risen, Jesus, You are now and always alive. We meet today to give You The worship You deserve. You have defeated death. You have marked out the path to life. Not just your own continuing life, But life for all who receive You. We have chosen, or are investigating, that life. We come today to be honest with You And with ourselves. You call us to respond to your genuineness With our own honesty. You harbor no deceit, no deception, no slight of hand. You lived a life and You are living a life, Of utter truth, reliability, and openness. Honesty leads to intimacy And intimacy with You is the source of life. The closer we get, the more Beautiful our life becomes. More tender, more loving, bathed in joy. In honesty, we recognize our need for repentance. In honesty, we recognize dependence. In honesty, we learn who we are. And we see more clearly who You are. We will never give up opening our heart to You. There’s always more life to receive. And the best will be here soon, Life that is truly life, forever and ever. Amen.

Hi Karen,
I love how God speaks words from so many people in so many ways ... until it clicks. Today, in your poem, it clicked.
Just yesterday, at breakfast with my wife, I was sharing how I think God is talking to me about "honesty." I see so many Christians reject "honesty" in favor of a kind of false faith. You know, a thousand things are going wrong, and friends who are scared to death say, "But I believe."
When the honest answer is, "I believe, help my unbelief."
But in the discussion with my wife, I was noticing all kinds of religious sounding phrases people use that seem to disguise our lack of faith, love, and hope.
And I just wondered: why is God talking to me about honesty?
And then I read in your poem: "Honesty leads to intimacy / And intimacy with You is the source of life."
YES! Absolutely!
Instead of a false, self-reliant (and self-deceiving) declaration "I have faith (or hope...)" in the middle of troubles, I think God is calling me to honesty, to simply cry out, "HELP! Father I need You!"
Thank you
Sam
