Father God Lord Jesus Holy Spirit We present ourselves before You again this Sunday. We want to worship, You, God, Not an image made of our preconceptions Or prior assumptions about You. Some of us have encountered crises this week. Some of us have cried out to You More intensely than usual. Others have sailed along, grateful for Your enduring presence and power. Many have had moments of gratitude Amid the dailiness of the ordinary. However we approach You today, We understand that You are in charge, That You are good, That You are holy. We remember the four living creatures Surrounding your throne, continuously Crying holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, The Almighty, who was and is and Who is to come. We need you to come to us today, To respond to our cries, to uphold us In our gratitude, to direct our thinking. In spite of your great majesty, we have Come to know, also, your personal Care for each one of us. We will never give up marveling at Your goodness. There’s always more to experience. And we long for the day of your coming, Jesus, When You will bring a kingdom that is Beyond the best we can imagine. Amen.

I was struck when I read the verse with these needs: "We need you to COME to us ... to RESPOND to our cries ... to UPHOLD us ... to DIRECT our thinking."
As I read those needs, I realized that expressing our needs to the Lord is one of the greatest and purest forms of worship, to say HE is our need and HIS actions is our need and HIS hand is our need.
It is an act of worship to say, "Give us this our daily bread."
Thanks!
And Father, most of all, we need YOU.
