Everyday Eternal
Sunday Psalm 3.1.26
Father God Lord Jesus Holy Spirit We present ourselves before You again this Sunday. After this ordinary week, on this ordinary morning, Having eaten our ordinary breakfast, We gather to declare the glory of Your most extraordinary existence. Forgive us if we are not taking seriously enough What we are doing here. It’s a challenge to live a routine life And also keep an eye on the eternal. We are blinded by the laundry and the cooking And the news and the ditch digging. We are distracted by what we view, what we read, What we touch and taste and smell. Jesus, You know what it is to inhabit both The ordinary and the celestial. We try, but we need You to inhabit us that We might span the spheres of The everyday and the eternal. Help us see You here, now, In us, with us, among us, Drawing us ever deeper. When we are aware of living in union with You, Our focus broadens and we can see The now, the surrounding, and the soon to come. Whatever sort of life on earth remains, We will never give up declaring Your Truth and goodness and beauty. There’s always more to look forward to When time and eternity join and We behold You as You are and will be forever. Amen.

Thank you, Karen.
I pray we learn to make the most ordinary moments -- cooking and dishes -- into moments of extraordinary worship, knowing the curtain is torn and we are in Your presence.
Sam
Oh, what a soul lifting perspective, when the mundane becomes sacred and the celestial comes into focus, almost within reach. My Creator, the only One True God, lift our heads and our hearts to see that "heaven and earth are full of your glory."
