Encouraged
Tuesday Thought 4.28.26
Praying for physical healing is such a challenging practice, isn’t it? Do you know anyone who has a clear sense of how to pray, when to ask, what to request, or a near perfect track record of positive results? I didn’t think so. Having felt disappointed so many times, I have just about given up on asking. But last night, as I was leaving my friend’s house, I felt an impulse to stop, lay hands on his aching knees and ask for healing. This morning, he reports they were better as soon as he stood up. “Amazing,” he said. Encouraging. May that healing be as persistent as my back healing thirty years ago has been. It’s not that I haven’t experienced physical healing in response to prayer. It’s that it doesn’t always happen. Which confuses me and that confusion leads to discouragement. But I’m encouraged this morning. You, too, maybe. The Lord bless you and keep you all your days.

Amen!

Perhaps, like last night's storm, and the resulting branches and limbs strewn over the land, we sometimes benefit from having the "deadness" shaken off of us to make way for new growth. As for how to pray...
