Father God Lord Jesus Holy Spirit We present ourselves before You again this Sunday. As the lyrics say, we want our lives to flow on In endless song, above earth’s lamentation. We want to hear your far off hymn, that hails A new creation. But some of us are losing sleep From lamentation and losing our grip On your promise of new creation. We’re too afraid of what this creation is coming to. We’re forgetting that your word Is more solid than the earth we tread. Your word is the medium of creation. You spoke and there was light. Your breath is firmer than Any object we see, touch, or taste. And we may be slipping in our trust In your promise to provide. We hear of people losing jobs. We read of the social safety net Developing bigger holes And wonder how that might affect us. Holy Spirit, we need a solid word today. We need to hear that hymn of promise And re-creation deep in our spirits. Draw us up, Father, onto your lap. Let us lean our heads against your beating heart. We will never give up hoping in your word. There’s always more faith to receive. And You will speak again, making all things new, Beyond the best we can imagine. Amen.
