Neither of the sons of the prodigal father loved him. The younger son who’d wasted his inheritance and was feeding pods to pigs, wishing someone would give him something to eat, just devised something to say to his father so he could get food. He needed his father. He didn’t long for him. The older son served his father like a slave. He worked not because he loved his father, but out of necessity. And the prodigal father did not disown them. He was willing to be their father. He yearned for them even if they did not truly love him. A penetrating presentation of Father God. Amazing love, how can it be? The Lord bless you and keep you all your days. Luke 15:11-32
